“A Midsummer Night Dream” is a play that at the beginning it really messed up my brain, I didn´t understand words and phrases, I thought it was weird, while the teacher mentioned some lines he thought were funny I just couldn´t get the joke, etc. I got pretty confused until I decided that instead of being frustrated because of stuff I don´t understand I should learn them. I looked up many meanings and started to pay more attention to the movie and the book, that is when I started to get everything. That changed not only my perspective of Shakespear but it helped me to avoid writing a bad personal response for it. Now, my opinion on the play is that it is indeed pretty comical, but what I really like to notice is how smart Shakespear wrote it, the use of words, the backround context, everything just fits PERFECTLY, This really made me admire him. Additionally, I really liked how it turned out to be a happy ending when everyone ends with the one they love because I honestly hate when there´s a sad ending. I also have to add that I am a really big fan of plays and the theatre so the Pyramus and Thisby part was pretty fun to act out.
If you asked Val of 2 weeks ago, she would give this play a 6/10 but now, I honestly give a 9.5/10, It is pretty enjoyable and entertaining.
