Wonder is a sad and happy story about a kid named Auggie who was grown up with a disease that makes his face look different then others. He was homeschooled his hole life up until middle school. His parents eventually decided to send him to middle school and he goes through lots of hate he gets bullied to the point where he needs to wear a astronaut helmet to school. He ends up making a couple real friends and in the end of the book people accept him for who he is and don’t just judge off his looks. Its a very happy ending which ties the hole story together.
pg. 73“I wish every day could be Halloween.” this quote talks about how he likes to be hidden in a costume because that’s when he feels most confident when people cant see his face and don’t just know him for the kid with the weird face. He fits in with everyone and doesn’t feel different or left out.
This book is great i highly recommend for everyone to read it. I feel it is mostly a message for kids to understand looks are not everything. Also that You should not judge a book by its cover.
