SRDiary- A Man. A Woman. Just Friends?

I think that friendships between the opposite sexes should be more normalized. During pop culture today even there is barely any demonstration of opposite-sex friendships. People still think that because you are of the opposite gender you must be attracted to that person whether you are actually attracted to that gender or not. I believe that platonic relationships between the same gender and different genders are the same and should be treated as such.

  1. I really liked your strong opinion on this subject and I could not agree with you more. It can be very difficult to have a friendship with someone of the opposite sex, not only because of sexual attractions but because of the people around you putting pressure on the people.

  2. Good response Gracie, I agree that opposite sex friendships should be normalized and that being friends with someone from the opposite gender does not mean that you are attracted to one another.

  3. Hi Gracie, yes, I agree that platonic relationships between two genders should be more normalized. It is true that in the pop culture we are currently living with, there is little to none demonstration of this. Especially if we look at the density of the culture itself, in terms of its length and topics. Not only that, the importance of platonic relationship is often undervalued in these days and ages.

  4. I wholeheartedly agree with your take on this matter. Based on these other comments, it looks as if there are many people in the present day who wish for friendships between opposite genders to become more normalized.

  5. Hi Gracie! I definitely agree with your opinion on opposite-sex friendships. Your analysis was very well done and I liked how you explained how these friendships should be more normalized. I also agree with what you said at the end of your response, how they are the same as same sex friendships and should be treated as such.

  6. Hello Gracie. I completely agree with your take on having friends that are the opposite gender. In our modern society we really have a problem accepting the fact that people from opposite genders can be just friends. I think we need to make a change. Thanks for posting about it!
