I love dyeing my hair in many different colours. My hair has been purple, blue, teal, blonde, ginger, red, bronde (a mix of brown and blonde), and brown, which is my natural hair colour. I don’t often go to salons as I don’t have the money to colour my hair so regularly at the price of 150$ each time, so I often resort to box dye to colour my hair when I feel bored. My hair has seen many different colours, lengths, and different levels of damage. Along with dyeing my hair on my own I also trim it myself, should I go to a salon? Yes. Do I? No because i’d rather not when I have a pair of hair-cutting scissors and the urge to snip, it is a big stress reliever and could be great when you wanna change up your look but I would advise anyone reading this against cutting your hair at home unless you have experience. Now back to the topic of box dye, I would like to call myself a senior in using box dye and I have gained a lot of knowledge from using box dye like don’t turn your bleach blonde hair brown with box dye or it turns a greenish grey or don’t use color oops on your dark red hair because you will have orange highlighter hair. I’ve learned a lot about hair styling and color theory through my work with box dye, which has become more of a hobby at this point. Although I enjoy dyeing my hair sometimes my hair deserves a break and in that i’ve learned a lot about maintaining dyed hair with different hair masks, color treatments, green and purple shampoo and of course heat protectant. Maintaining and giving your hair some love is always needed whether you have dyed or natural hair, short or long, hair care is so important so go do a hair mask and a nice deep condition, you’ll thank me later! Unless your bald that is…
