The Wide Window ( book of third)
Lemony Snicket
215 pages
In the second book, the book ended where Dr. Montgomery died because of his reptile collection, after that the orphanage kids was sent to another guardian, Aunt Josephine. Although, she is a kind old woman, she is also frightened by many things. After her husband died because the leeches ate him, she developed of being phobia, meaning she is beginning to be scared or frightened by almost everything. The orphan kids feels safe being with Aunt Josephine, but until their greatest enemy comes, Count Olaf returns. He convince or tempts Aunt Josephine to commit suicide in order for him to have the orphan kids and to to care of them. But the orphans kids aren’t dumb they are very smart, they know that Aunt Josephine isn’t dead, she is just hiding from one of the caves along the lake.
This book is continuous, or it connect from the last book to the next book. The title does shows, that the orphan kids does have the unfortunate events. The kids are very bad luck, they always have the bad luck of having their new guardian. lemony Snicket, always tell about science fiction books, sometimes tragic. The book is simple, easy to read, and it is mostly the same book as others you can find.
I think this book is better than the second series. But overall, still the same its ok, its not that bad.

It is a nice book Belle!! Nice journal entry!
Hi I’m one of Mrs. White’s students. I love the Series of Unfortunate Events because of the action and Lemony Snicket’s style of writing. I like how he gives some clues about the next book, like you said. The Series of Unfortunate Events is like one big story separated into books. I really like your post on the book!
Hi Belle! This post is great! I read up to the tenth book in the Series of Unfortunate Events but I never got to finish. I love the way Lemony Snicket writes his books. I like the way you described Aunt Josephine. She was a very strange character. Like you said, she is afraid of everything. She was scared of household items like doorknobs, ovens, stoves, refrigerators, phones, and of course, the leeches! You included all the key points and it made your entry great!
