Blowin’ in the Wind
by Bob Dylan
How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes, ‘n’ how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, ‘n’ how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they’re forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind,
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.
How many years can a mountain exist
Before it’s washed to the sea?
Yes, ‘n’ how many years can some people exist
Before they’re allowed to be free?
Yes, ‘n’ how many times can a man turn his head,
Pretending he just doesn’t see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind,
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.
How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, ‘n’ how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, ‘n’ how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind,
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.
_______________________________________Original Song
by Jee Yoon Chung
How much money must a man have to spend
Before he gets what he wants?
Yes, ‘n’ how much pain must a man ease away
Before he heals his own wound?
Yes, ‘n’ how many books must a man try to read
Before the answer is found?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind,
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.
How many years must Korea hesitate
Before it unites itself?
Yes, ‘n’ How many tears must a man shed away
Before he meets his dear son?
Yes, ‘n’ how many cries must a man ignore,
Pretending he just doesn’t hear?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind,
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.
How many times must a bird fall down
Before it learns to fly high?
Yes, ‘n’ how many songs must a singer sing along
Before he changes the world?
Yes, ‘n’ how many times must a clock turn round
Before it comes to the end?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind,
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.

I really enjoyed reading this, and imagining the song with these lyrics in my mind. There’s so much meaning in each line!
The only thing that doesn’t seem to fit well is the sixth line in the first verse:
“Before he finds the answer?”, because ‘answer’ is usually stressed on the first syllable, but in the song the second syllable should be stressed.
Perhaps change the word to something else, or you could also rephrase the line?
Otherwise, good job.
Thank you for the advice, Jacelyn!
I’ll edit that part soon:)
By the way, I really liked your pastiche too
Really good piece of idea you got there…
I think the only problem will be the singing
but anyway, really good job
Thanks!
