I have just recently finished reading The Bloods of Olympus which is the fifth book in the series, “Heroes of Olympus”. The author is Rick Riordan who is the author of the popular series, Percy Jackson and The Kane Chronicles. The series is a sequel to Percy Jackson. It falls under the category of mystery, adventure, coming of age. It is the final book in the series. The 7 hero’s, Annabeth, Percy, Leo, Frank, Piper, Hazel and Jason, go on their final journey to battle the Giants in attempt to stop the mother earth, Gaea, from waking/rising from her slumber. The beginning part of the book picks up from where it last left off. However, when the plot seems to slow down and (without knowning how many pages were left, e-reader) the author makes it seem like it is cliff hanger for the next book however, the new problems creates a major twist in the book with the gods finally agreeing to help and the sacrifice of one of the 7 heroes. I would recommend this book to both boys and girls between the ages of 8-16 mainly due to the fact that some parts seem more mature while the level is the book is aimed for younger readers, in my opinion. I believe that people who are looking for a romantic or more none fantasy genre will not enjoy this book. To conclude, I really enjoyed this book as it closed the series and stopped keeping me on edge, however it disappointed me to see a cliff hanger at the end of the book.

Good points and view about the book but it would be better if you expanded your ideas.

  • Jasmine

Good entry, you explained your view on the book and covered the basics of the story. As Arron has said, maybe you could expand your ideas and add a quotation or two.

Good review however you could expand on your points (as both Arron and Jasmine said) and maybe split the information into smaller paragraphs with more structure instead of one big paragraph.

The overall structure of this blog is great, you followed the steps that Mr. Macknight told us to do so.
