Goldilocks – The stagescript

Image of a deciduous forest at the background. A few shorter deciduous trees are onstage, spread far apart from each other. GOLDILOCKS is walking down a path.
GOLDILOCKS: Ah, it’s such a nice day today!
GOLDILOCKS stops for a stretch. She continues walking until she is in front of the house. The house has two floors, the walls are made of wood, and the roof is red. In front of the door, there is a red ‘welcome’ carpet.
GOLDILOCKS: (looking up) Ain’t this a pretty house? I’m soo hungry! I wonder if there is anyone in there.
She walks up and knocks 3 times.
GOLDILOCKS: Hello? Is anyone home? GOLDILOCKS knocks again. Hello?
GOLDILOCKS turns the doorknob and is shocked that it is unlocked; she takes a step, peeps her head in and looks around.
GOLDILOCKS: Hello? Anyone home? She pauses. Wait, what is that on the table? Mmm, smells nice! I’m hungry!
GOLDILOCKS runs up to the table and there lay 3 different sized bowls in a row. She grabs a spoon and scoops up the porridge from the large bowl and eats it.
GOLDILOCKS: (exclaiming) This porridge is too hot!
She scoops the porridge from the second bowl and eats it.
GOLDILOCKS: This porridge is too cold!
She scoops the porridge from the smallest bowl.
GOLDILOCKS: (happily) Ahhh, this porridge is just right!
She eat all the porridge up from the smallest bowl.
GOLDILOCKS: I think I’m a little tired. I should sit down somewhere! She looks towards the living room on the right. Ah, I should sit there!
She sits on the big wooden chair.
GOLDILOCKS: (exclaiming) This chair is too big!
She moves to the second chair.
GOLDILOCKS: (whining) This chair is too big, too!
She heads for the final chair which is small.
GOLDILOCKS: Ahhh, this chair is just right.
The CHAIR creaks, and a chair leg suddenly snaps.
GOLDILOCKS: Ahhh! She falls.
GOLDILOCKS stands back up again.
GOLDILOCKS: She yawns. I’m soo tired!
She stumbles around and leans on the railway of the stairs. Three beds are in the room, with the biggest one closest to the door. GOLDILOCKS lays on the first bed.
GOLDILOCKS: It’s too hard!
She lays on the second bed.
GOLDILOCKS: This one is too soft!
She lays on the third bed.
GOLDILOCKS: Ahhh, this one is just right. She quickly falls asleep.
Noise is heard by the front door.
PAPA BEAR: We didn’t lock the front door! Walks towards the bowls of porridges. (growling) Someone’s been eating my porridge!
MAMA BEAR: Someone’s been eating my porridge!
BABY BEAR: (crying) Someone’s been eating my porridge and they ate it all up!
PAPA BEAR heads towards the living room.
PAPA BEAR: (growling) Someone’s been sitting in my chair!
MAMA BEAR: Someone’s been sitting in my chair!
BABY BEAR: (crying) Someone’s been sitting in my chair and they’ve broken it all to pieces!
PAPA BEAR: We should check upstairs
MAMA BEAR and BABY BEAR nod in agreement. They all head upstairs.
PAPA BEAR: (growling) Someone’s been sleeping in my bed!
MAMA BEAR: Someone’s been sleeping in my bed, too!
BABY BEAR: (exclaiming) Someone’s been sleeping in my bed and she’s still here!
GOLDILOCKS is suddenly aware of noises, wakes up and sees the BEARS looking down at her.
GOLDILOCKS: Help! She runs out of the house from the front door.
All BEARS chase after her till offstage.
THE END.
