The Carrie Diaries is written by Candace Bushnell, and is the diaries of Carrie from the famous TV series “Sex And The City”. This book is from before she moved to New York to live her dream as a writer. In this book you meet Carrie when she is in high school, young, scared, and doesn’t know what to do with her life. We get to know her through her problems, worries and thoughts, and follow her through her senior year in high school. You get a good idea of how she was before she moved and you feel like you really get to know Carrie by reading this book. This is a book about making decisions, and daring to take a chance!
I really enjoyed reading this book, and when I first started to read, I couldn’t stop reading it! I was always wondering what would happen next! Although I already know how the book is going to end because of the TV series, it was still enjoyable to read, and you get to know things about Carrie that you never would have known if you hadn’t read this book.
This book fit best to teenagers because you can very easily relate to a lot of things that Carrie is thinking about. I know from my own reading experience, that I often enjoy books I can relate with to some extent. However, this book would probably fit best to girls. Since this book is mainly targeted for girls, boys probably wouldn’t find it so interesting.
