When talking about languages, about verbal and non verbal. But no one ever discussed sign language. I think that this can help trying to understand maths as a language.
There are many different types of sign language just as there are many types of mathematics. But if we understand one type of the language we can sometimes understand a few things from the other language. Since there are some similarities between the two. For maths there are some things similar for example the symbols for things. And it applies to sign language also. If someone understands ASL then they might understand small things in BSL.
I think showing the same problem in another context than I feel that it can help us understand the situation better.
