Bias Book

So while everyone has been trying to figure out the difference between bias and oppinion, I’ve been thinking about how people react to biases. “To mitigate the effects of cognitive bias, we first need to be aware of them.” I agree with this. If you don’t know that you are bias, then obviously you won’t try to change anything.

“We are overconfident about our own reasoning abilities, and one of the most common bias is that biases that we have no biases!” I think this is true. People want to think that they are fair and not wrong. Unless it is very obvious, I think that people will tend  to deny that they are biased. People know that there is such a thing as a bias, yet won’t want to believe that its part of themselves too. As they will say “I’m special, I wouldn’t do that” and so on.
