I think reading is really important. A lot of my friends do not like reading but I really do.
Firstly younger children need to read to learn. Reading can teach people about the world can also help develop the imagination. Reading aloud can improve grammar and phrasing and can teach new words and vocabulary. Also it has been proven that reading e-books can improve eyesight.
Secondly reading is very important in todays society. If you cant read or don’t read well it may impact future life. No reading means no job applications and the like. Or instructions on medicine bottles, if you cant read those it may have very bad consequences. All good jobs have some reading involved.
I really hope people continue reading or start reading if you don’t as it really is necessary in todays society.

I quite agree that reading is beneficial to us. I quite liked it when you referred to the medicine bottle saying that it could have very bad consequences. However in one of the sentences you wrote “Reading can teach people about the world can also help develop the imagination.” Correct me if I’m wrong, but shouldn’t it say “Reading can teach people about the world AND can also help develop the imagination.” ?
I think that your topic is a good choice and it is quite true actually. But would watching TV like National Geography be the the same as reading.
